CGN Meiya was awarded the “Independent Power Producer of the Year” Gold award in the 2014 Asian Power Award ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on September 11. CGN Meiya was last honored with the same award in 2009. Asian Power Award, the only power sector contest in Asia, is held annually for recognizing IPPs in Asia with outstanding achievements in various fields.

The competitive award was assessed before an independent panel of judges, and granted for our outstanding contributions to clean energy development in Asia. In particular, the growth of our new clean and highly-efficient power generation capacity, namely Huangshi Phase II ultra-supercritical coal-fired 2x680 MW and Yulchon Phase II Mitsubishi J-series gas-fired 946.3 MW capacity, and global issuance of USD 350 million unsecured USD bond. Additionally, we demonstrated our continuous efforts and capability in maximizing our fleet operation efficiency, environmental performance and consistent delivery of excellent returns to our shareholders.
